The article will discuss the military conflict that occurred in Vietnam in the second half of the twentieth century. Of course, not without the participation of the United States. The previous publication was devoted to the most common Vietnamese traps (link at the end of the article), here we will focus on more sophisticated types.
Bamboo Muffin
Bamboo keffiyeh is a poisonous snake. The poison of this snake was very strong, its bite was fatal. The Vietnamese called it "the snake of three steps," because the poison did not just kill the person, but kill him quickly. He violated the blood clotting process and destroyed the red blood cells. There were a lot of such snakes in Vietnam and the local partisans learned how to use them against invaders.
Poisonous gifts awaited Americans everywhere: in bags, in boxes, in boxes, in bamboo stalks, in abandoned houses, sheds, and in all the places where the enemy could get. Often they were hanged by the tail at the face level or thrown onto the road along which American troops moved.
Bamboo trap
Such a trap was set over the doorways in the houses that had to be left. It consisted of several wooden bars connected by wire or other materials that would ensure the mobility of the structure. Bars were equipped with sharp spikes. When the door opened, such a construction abruptly fell on the uninvited guest, shredding his face and ripping open his stomach.
Mines
In the abandoned villages of the Americans, not only snakes were waiting. The Vietnamese mined everything they could reach. Doors, windows, furniture, various items that can attract attention. Taking a trophy from Vietnam was a risky business.
The Vietnamese often left weapons, mostly rifles, on their graves. However, this was done for a reason. If the marauders decided to pick up a rifle, a grenade mounted nearby, connected to the rifle with an inconspicuous rope, was triggered.
A separate conversation is the flagpole. After a cruel battle, changing the flag on it is a holy tradition. The Vietnamese made a cunning trap from the flagpole, equipping it with a grenade. The soldier who dared to lower the Vietnamese flag was immediately struck by an explosion and shrapnel. After his comrades ran up to him, often another charge ran nearby.
The Vietnamese have learned how to increase the effectiveness of a conventional grenade. They placed next to it a vessel with a flammable liquid, mainly diesel fuel. The effect of this was incredible. There is a case when 17 people suffered from one such stretch, 5 of whom died. Not bad at all for a hand grenade.

The Soviet Union supplied Vietnamese land mines in large quantities. They were installed on the roads and in the fields where the US military could pass. All of these traps had a negative effect on the morale of American soldiers.
Soon they were just scared to live in Vietnam, because danger lurked them everywhere.
