One basic rule on Steemit. NEVER EVER ask for upvotes. NEVER EVER suggest "Please upvote me."
Upvote are given for high-quality work or interesting and helpful comments. You can ask a thousand Steemians for an upvote, but about 999 of them won't bother to upvote you.
On the other hand, if you make a high-quality post, a number of people might upvote it, and you would attract followers. Your next post might get more upvotes, and attract more followers.
