When you are writing something and spending a alot of Your time writing, Your equipment is very important.

Here is a little guide on some equipement you should buy if you need to upgrade your system.
I will prioritize comfort and access, rather than high performance. You are only writing after all.

Laptops: (Prio; Battery, Keyboard, Portability)
Lenovo X1 Carbon
Macbook Pro
Macbook Air
Acer Laptops
Some Chromebooks might work if you are okey with only writing in Google Documents.

Screens: (Prio:Size, resolution, Display type)
Look for screens from 24 to 27 inch. You can go for something like 32 inch, but I would only recommend it if you are going to use multiple documents or tabs open at the same time.
Go for a screen with IPS instead of VA or TN. The IPS technology makes the color more fresh and alive. TN and VA panel makes the screen very grey-ish.
Go for a screen with resolution 1920x1080 or 2560x1440. If you are going for a 4K screen, remember that you will need to zoom in alot to be able to see the text you are writing!

Keyboards: (Prio: Wire/wireless, price, type of keys)
Keyboards is the most important thing when it comes to writing. I do highly recommend you to NOT use a mechanical keyboard due to the sound, the force needed for each key to be registered and price.
Logitech have some nice keyboards and the K740 from Logitech is fantastic to write on.
I do recommend a keyboard with LOW keys.
The Apple keyboards is also very nice to type on, but normally expensive.
Do you need a wired or a wireless keyboard?

Mouse: (Prio: Weight, extra mouse buttons, size, wire/wireless)
Mouses is not very important when you are going to write alot, but having a good mouse to switch websites, tabs and check files is always good. Normally I use like 5 different mouses depending on if im home, away, traveling or at work.

Programs:
You can always pay for Word, but remember that you get 99% of all the features for free with Google Drive. You can also use Evernote to write, but that has a monthly fee.
