She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on 1941. Her works include religion, fiction, eroticism, gothic, and horror; she’s best known for her novels Vampire Chronicles that includes all of them and also love, death and immortality, the most popular is Interview with the vampire published in 1976, this book was also turned into a movie under the same title in 1994, started by Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt, also, it was turned into a movie in 2002 the third book of her saga name The queen of the dammed (1988) but this one is not as popular as Interview with the vampire; and since her saga was really popular the second book The Vampire Lestat (1985) was taken to Broadway as a musical in 2006.

But these series of novels is just a part of all her works, she is also known for her sadomasochistic erotica novels, some of them are Punishment (1984), Servant of the Bones(1996) and also Vittorio the Vampire (1999), just mentioning a few of them.

Even though this was her most recognize work she stopped writing them when she turned catholic, in 1998, and published some books about religion like Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt (2005) and latter angels made it into her writing, coming out with Angel Time (2009) and Love and Evil (2011), but in 2010 she said to the media at she was no longer Christian, saying that she tried during ten years to be part of the religion but it wasn’t for her, no matter how much she tried she was an outsider and couldn’t pretend to be part of that group she called “hostile”, and with this she started her supernatural writing again, going this time for werewolves and also wrote a new book for her Vampires Chronicles, called Prince Lestat.

Of all her works my favorite so far is Vampires Chronicles, which I’ve been reading since a long ago and decided to keep reading the saga recently. Right now I’m reading one of them and since every book I read is more fascinating that the last one I decided to come and share it with you hoping to get you interested on reading her.

Next time I’ll be writing about Vampire chronicles! Read you soon!
