I've decided to not only remind myself about the characters, but I figured I'd give you something to sink your teeth into too.

Oscar

Oscar is Victoria’s husband, her consort. He is more than a thousand years old and is an accomplished Wolf – of course, bitten Wolves are not as powerful or well-practiced as born-Wolves of the same age, but after a certain time, that advantage can be narrowed and therefore negligible.

He was bitten for Victoria by her sister so she could marry him without danger of producing Throwbacks.

I don’t know if they have had children (could be a plot-twist coming up… you never know) but I know that if they do, they will never be considered for the throne and Lycaeonship.

I believe that Victoria took a fancy to Oscar and had full permission to have him bitten for her – which is probably why there is no acrimony about their union.

Victoria and Oscar make a fine pair and have proven to be great characters to work with.

He is a fierce and brave Wolf and I really must have a think about the circumstances in which he caught Victoria’s eye to the point that she wanted him for her husband.

Oscar has proven himself on the battle-fields in numerous wars, battles and skirmishes over the centuries – in both Wolf and Hume wars. If you catch him in just the right mood, he will wax lyrical about the wars in France – the Battle of Agincourt is a particular favourite.

He took Luke under his wing and showed him how to be a great General at the Battle of Blore Heath towards the start of the War of the Roses.

He is a quick-thinker and reacts with humour at every opportunity. Once, when Luke appeared before a messenger in Wolf-form, taking the servants by surprise at his sudden, Wolfen appearance, Oscar turned the tables on Luke who had been missing without telling anyone where or why he was going.

Wolfkind comes first with Oscar, even to the detriment of personal relationships and his wife, the Lycaeon is his commander in times of war – though he is certainly not hen-pecked.

As I mentioned in Luke’s document, fidelity is not a deal-breaker where relationships are concerned and Victoria has had a dalliance or two – with a means to an end, usually.

Oscar would give his life for Victoria – both as his wife and as his Lycaeon – and that is never put in doubt in my stories. He’s brave, incredibly strong and has a great sense of humour. He may look like he’s built for comfort, not for speed, but sleeker and more powerful-looking Wolves have underestimated him to their detriment.

When Hazel first met Oscar, she took to him immediately. A kind gentleman, with a jovial side. He once tricked her into believing that she had caused him great harm on the night of her first Wolfing and she was distraught – but as he declared, he heals quickly.

I base Oscar on lots of different characters that I’ve ever met or have observed. Easy to talk to, a friendly ear if necessary, he can put a person at their ease and will listen while they unburden their woes. Then he will give advice if asked, with a wisdom acquired over his many, many years watching Humes as they go about their brief lives.

Oscar was presented as a Lord of the Manor when Hazel first met him and Victoria took more of a back seat because they met in the presence of Hazel’s neighbours and it would have been thought unusual for Victoria to be the higher ranking of the pair.

Oscar is used to the mantle of Lord to his Lady and wears it well, but as Victoria doesn’t press the issue, neither does Oscar. He plays a benevolent Lord, rather than an all-powerful one that asks for and receives immediate deference.

Because of the impression they gave in the first meeting, Hazel assumed that Oscar was the Lycaeon and Oscar took great amusement in playing along to trick the naïve Hazel.

Oscar is an ‘old-fashioned’ type of gentleman.

He would always stand up when a lady entered the room, lift his hat, open a door for a lady.
Whereas his etiquette is impeccable and ladies are always treated with due-deference, he is under no illusions that the female of the species is often deadlier than the male.

Sort:

Oscar is a gentleman.
The way he was describe in this context is fascinating.
Oscar the gentle wolf!

Thank you, but I don't think this short piece does him justice. He works much better in the books :)

Oscar is a kind wolf
More like a father .
He his the alpha pack!

Only with other Wolves - Humes don't seem to get time to see that side of him.

Beautiful story Beautiful post i enjoyed I follow u and upvote me

Best post upvoted for you. if have some seconds please review my post.

I'm afraid I don't follow financial blogs.

Very fascinating story
Need to read your other stories to know about the other characters,,

Thank you, they are certainly well-worth reading (my opinion, of course).

That was kind of a cool read, Oscar is kind of like a jovial grandfather, but one you do not want to get riled up, and certainly not one you want pissed off at you because you messed with family. Even though I have yet to read about him, I think I like him and the character he plays.

Thank you. I think that's what I was trying to get across to the readers... but also that he's only like that with others of his kind - we'd not get the chance to see that kindly side of him ;)

I think I've watched flm from your post image. this is very scary

I think you must be mistaken. The image was produced for my book cover - Blood on the Moon - and I don't think it has been used for anything else.

It's a great image though :)

Oscar is hero

Oscar is a Werewolf.

Thank you for writing such a beautiful ghost story, really afraid to read a story that anyone fears

Ghost story?

I'm afraid it isn't about ghosts and nor is it a story.

I love Oscar's character. Well rounded and someone you would like to have as a friend and not enemy. Is there a book in there somewhere dedicated to just Oscar and perhaps Victoria?

Ooh, another great idea! Thank you! ❤️

I've always really liked Oscar - but would want him on my side, not against me, lol.

Absolutely!mind you, I'd rather even Darius was on my side if I had a choice of whether they were going to be friendly or not 😬

Oscar is strong and powerful, yet he stands up for ladies, lift his hat and open door..
This proves he is real MAN (yes werewolf but like a real man)
Hazle is lucky she has him
Nicely written dear :)

Thank you, but he's Victoria's husband, not Hazel's

o yeah :)
Thanks for correction dear

Your posts about this novel series has inspired me a lot since I began in Steemit, I'm so grateful because thanks to this inspiration I have dared to write my own novel series. Greetings from Venezuela!

Oh hey, thank you. Good Luck with your series too!
