Wow, I just found you by accident (if you believe in accidents, that is). I usually don't read stories by authors that have a lot of chapters. Not because I don't want to (I'm the long novel kinda type, not the short story kind) but simply because I don't have the time. But after seeing this chapter here and reading a few sentences, I felt intrigued and I felt I had to read at least part of the beginning. I ended up reading all of it! Now, I sure hope you'll give us chapter 11 soon, because I can't wait to read it!
And then I discovered you are in NO, Louisiana! MAN! Anne Rice is one of my favorite authors and because of her books, I've always felt like I knew New Orleans like the palm of my hand, even though I've never been there. I've even had a chat with a guy from NO once, back in Vegas, and after a while he asked me if I was sure I'd never been there, because I seemed to know the place so well LOL.
Anyway, it's a pleasure to have found you and I am looking forward to see more of this story unfold.

I'm so sorry for the delay in response @misslasvegas but thank you so much for the awesome comment and kind words!! Anne Rice is one of my idols and a lot of my inspiration has come from her writings and just like her, the city of New Orleans definitely has a huge influence!
I do apologize for the amount of time between chapters, I get them out when I can in between everything else I have going on. It brings me great joy that you have enjoyed what you've read so far and I'm so glad that you are hopping on for the roller coaster of a ride I intend to take you on.
