Letter to someone

Dear Someone,

Somehow I felt like telling you this today.
We all need somebody to lean on right? Yea we get it, no one is self sufficient, no one is an Island.

BUT

You must also know that, you are in charge of yourself. No matter who you are and how much fans you have, they cannot help you to be you. Let me explain a little.

Life is not easy, it's easier when two people walk it together, guess that's the whole idea of marriage and friendships anyway, but subtly we walk it almost alone.

People may not know when you need them most, they might be "unavoidably absent" (I like that English a lot, it reminds me of how much precarious our trust in people can be) which might not be their fault, life happens. But, you'll always be there for yourself anytime, every time. The question is, when you're the only one left for you, will you be sufficient?

Do you have the capacity to be there for yourself? You know the Bible said something, It says "If you fail in times of adversity your strength is small". "Your strength" Not you and your friends' strength, just yours alone.

Build up yourself because adversity will come, and people might not be too kind to help or might be totally unaware of it, but then you'll have only yourself to lean on.
Here's where people end up committing suicide, and all that. Don't be that person, choose to be strong.

Your husband, your fiance, your friends can't always be your wall to lean on, sometimes they crumble, sometimes they're shaky and need support themselves. Build yourself up, lay your foundation on Who God has said you are and build on it. You can make the strongest wall you'll ever need.

Just you and God in a team is enough to keep you going, and when people decide to help, accept it with wide arms, but if not, be sure to still be capable of standing.

Stop breaking down at every slightest neglect and abandonment. Realize that "YOU ARE ENOUGH.
Besides, who told you those people you call your backbone will always be around?

Be strong, Be you, Be enough.
