You're right, good posts take effort, however I like to write a combination of longer, well researched content and short, picture based posts. Not everything needs a lot of words, and often times, people aren't in the mood for reading.

You're quite right, people are not always in the mood for "wordy" posts, and most of the time my photo essays are much shorter.
