Today I want to talk a bit deeper about the video market. This is a very interesting space I think to explore since it's only been here for the last 100 years. Compared to other forms like text that has been here for thousands of years. This is a video I did for this article!
So what is our experience with video first on the Internet? Well it started with YouTube big time 2005 when online video truly became a thing. Before that the Internet was usually too slow and it was too expensive to host videos. In the beginning the resolution wasn't that impressive but it quickly got better over the years. The flow of amateur video started to grow for the first time.
Video is a very interesting format since it engages the viewer so much with the different backgrounds and effects and light being used. This engage more of your senses compared to just text or audio for example. Video can show us so much more of another persons life. We still can't take in the current feel of the area they are in with video but perhaps some day we will be able to do that. But video has been a format that people truly love because we can relate with others humans emotions at such a deeper level. We can easier see that other humans are just like us people with many flaws and thoughts. Take this video for example of NYC in early 1990s. The realistic feel it had just wow! We will create more of that in the future.
Video is a massive area in TV Shows that we can see with Netflix and Amazon Prime video. But the thing that excite me the most is the better cheaper camera coming out that will allow more amateur video content producers to compete with big production companies. Eventually it will be so cheap and easy to produce cool videos that you will be able to make your own TV Shows. We are already starting to have robots that can film us from super interesting angles and that can be remote controlled. This is still very expensive but the cost of production is constantly going down. For example a $2000 dollar Sony 4K camera in 2014 now you can get almost identical quality on a Samsung high-end smartphone! Cost is going down so much!
So the output of quality content will be amazing. And just in general record a video and share a human experience is worth so much more than just a text about a persons life. Since video add some much more human qualitites like deeper vulnerability. I'm looking forward to when the cost to produce animated video will go down more. Since I feel they can express emotions so much deeper! YouTube was a cool start of amateur video. But it still blocked many content producers from massive growth.
Mainly since you need thousands of clicks to just generate a dollar in value. This started the click bait war where people that produce content tries to trick users to engage and just click on a video. After they click on a video it's proven with statistics that the person will stay locked in for 2 minutes! It's like you want to have just a constant flow of zombies. The blockchain is changing this completely where it's more about building trust and relationships. The engagement matters more. Vulnerability matters. Connections matters. Creativity matters.
Each person that wants to be able to have a higher influence chance can work himself up and increase his reputation and be able to easier reward content creators he likes. For example on the Steem Blockchain we can send value to a creator in 3 seconds time with 0 fees. This is totally amazing since it promotes massive growth and taking action! And in the future even more rewards will be possible! Especially with Smart Media Tokens.
People like video also since it's super easy to consume you can also use it with just the audio. And work on something else at the same time. Since video cameras like we have on smartphones only has been here for a decade the cool thing with that is that there is so much in the real world that needs to be recorded and put on the Internet. That is why video will grow so much! Since people love to consume it and get new ideas.
Eventually we will probably have a camera that records us all the time and then we can click on a button in our phone that automatically makes a video of our day. If we combine that with a mind reader then that means it will be able to create a super unique video automatically that will be highly engaging to watch. We humans will also have a deep need to feel that we can trust and relate to others. Since we still have a tribal brain. Video also add so much authenticity and originality and inspires others so much. It shows that a person doesn't want to be anonymous and hide themselves. It shows they are ready to show themselves to the world.
Even when it's not vlogs I have seen other interesting video content types. When you will be able to create movies of your mind ideas and be able to see them visually played out that will be nice. We hear a lot about people using visualisation. What if we can create movies of our mind thoughts easy and play that movie in front of our eyes and share it to others easy to be able to inspire them to create their own videos.
The whole goal of all this is to make the consumer end up in a more present state. With so much negativity in the world we need to spread some real love by creating high quality content. Only thing you have to do is to listen to your heart as cheesy as it sounds. But your face is unique and you are a brand! I have talked about that in other DTube videos!
What I learned with doing over 9000 YouTube videos is that there is so much video content people want but isn't there. Just showing how to take a screen shot on a new phone model can get 300,000 YouTube views! So these tiny video ideas will get massive amount of viewers. I have gotten over 600 million views on my YouTube videos! People love it so much and always desire more fresh high quality content! Because as a video creator. It also makes you more aware looking at yourself and your life how you can improve your surroundings and living standard. And it's fun to make videos replying to peoples questions!

I definitely think video will be the way to go. It's much easier to get your point across than in writing, and more people want to watch videos (even long ones) rather than read tons of text.
Good post...it gave me a different perspective about videos.
