  Day6   18/05/2018

Jamal’s mother despaired, he had gone through at least two pairs of school shoes that term, they always went the same way. The soles seemed to lift off from the top part of the shoe, so that Jamal’s feet were exposed to the elements, flap, flap, flapping in the wind. As Jamal and his friends dazzled their way on the playground, they were actually aware that they were being watched. From a distance the games teacher watched the boys with mild amusement, they seemed so happy, away in their own world.

GOOOOOOAAAAAAL! Jamal shouted, running away from the goal, pulling his jumper over his head he ran round the playground; arms stretched out like an aeroplane, in much the same manner as his football heroes. Mobbed by his friends Jamal lapped the adulation with grateful acceptance. Jamal was ecstatic, coming down from his celebrations, he heard the bell signal, break was over.

Grabbing the match ball, with shirt hanging out of his trousers, Jamal headed towards class. Whilst there he tried to focus on the remainder of the lesson, it would soon be home time, he was excited at the thought of his grandmother coming to pick him up from school. He enjoyed when his grandma came to collect him, she always brought him treats. He thought his grandmother was special.
