RE: Thoughts from a bed | Same bed, different topic

The interesting thing about wearing a mask is when you start taking it off, you may discover that what you'd thought of as your true face turns out to be just another mask you've been wearing to hide from yourself!
Here on the blockchain, where downvotes / flags come with debilitating consequences, people may want to hide their troll faces. But maybe that troll-face is also a mask they have to put on to hide their insecurities...
Not sure where I'm going with this, but I guess similarly to the wolf becoming a pug over time, if we keep wearing a mask for long (whether it's an over-mask for the outside world, or an under-mask for ourselves), it may become harder to take it off, until it could get to stick for good, meaning becoming part of our character. So the best approach would be having a number of masks handy, which we change on a regular basis, while staying aware of what's underneath.
