I would like to invite you to play a game.
The object of this game – Let’s call it the thank you game. It is to find a creative and inexpensive way to thank or acknowledge those people in your life who often get overlooked. For instance you might acknowledge or appreciate those people who provide you with everyday services. Have some fun! Do something like:

  1. Bring a box of chocolate or a basket of fruits to your service provider (mtn, glo, etc,). Thank the employees for their hard work throughout the year. Believe me, this will mean so much and you might just get a whole month subscription.
  2. Dial 911 and thank the police for doing the little they could to ensure peace and security in your environment. (Don’t be surprised if there’s a period of stunned silence).
  3. Send a thank you card to someone who could least expect it, like your lecturers, your parents, that friend who once helped you but you guys just splitted due to some misunderstanding, your boss at work for employing you, your maids for always helping out.
  4. Make some snacks and take to the staffs of an orphanage home just thank them for helping out with the helpless kids. Fun right? Or your local church pastors for keeping you in check every day of your life through the messages they preach.
  5. Buy some toys for those your little brothers and sisters who usually run errands for you when ever to call on them and tell them thank you.
  6. Slip a piece of note in your wife’s bag or your husband’s briefcase or to your fiance or fiancei with an inscription, “Thank you for being there”. Loolzzz.
The idea is to unleash your creative spirit and experience the joy of thanking others. As you play the “thank you” game, you will probably discover what my grandma learned many years ago: saying thank you and giving to others feels so good that you will want to keep doing it for the rest of your life.

TAKE ACTION CHALLENGE
Stop for a moment and browse through your contacts and identify the people who had help make your life more easier and made you establishment, church or fellowship grow. Then make a list of these people and set out this week or this year to thank one special person a day
HAVE FUN!
