I always wanted to try Scrivener, but I can kind of see what you're getting at. It's not available on every platform. And the interface does kind of look hard to crack.
I also agree about cloud saving. I don't care how provably safe it is, I don't feel comfortable without redundant backups of everything I write, on flash drives, CDs, or stored on the back end of my personal website.

Yeah, I was very frustrated with how much time it took to learn. And I use Indesign, Photoshop, and Lightroom in my work and yet this took a lot of time.
Thanks for the compliment! Steemit needs a follow thread. As I follow several people and yet I have to track them down. So I have gone back to Word for my next book. And it does just fine. I can work on my desktop and then on my laptop, no problems. And that is how it should be.
