Yup, I agree with the part here were you say there is no need to be bounded by a niche and try to write only on it. When i started writing on Steemit, my aim was to write travel articles. I quickly found that while thats a niche that was helpful, it had a lot of bland content in it as well, making it overflow most of the time. And then came the part of raw, authentic posts. I realized that making money off Steemit is one thing, but really writing because i wanted to share something was a different thing. And then i diversified. And the flow came. I explored muliple topics of interest and finally found few that work for me really well.
In the long run, being a niche may be a good idea, but to get there, its probably a nice idea to cutivate the ability to be able to write, discuss and explore a multitude of things.
