RE: Are You Having a Book Hangover?

in #writing7 years ago

Oh yes. Since I can't even fall asleep without reading first, I can't stay hungover too long. My best cure is to read something completely different. Preferably something light and fluffy that you know won't affect you as deeply, like a cozy romance. It flushes out my memory buffers so I'm ready to move on.

Out of curiosity, which book gave you your latest hangover?

I'm trying now with an audiobook and so far so good! So, let's see how that goes but reading something of an entirely different genre sounds like it could work, I'll definitely try that the next time.

The book was "The Upside of Unrequited" by Becky Albertalli, a YA novel which honestly it wasn't even that good but Molly, the main character, has such a strong voice and I completely fell in love with her in a heartbeat! Now, I kind of miss her. 😂

Falling love with a fictional character is such a mystical thing! May have to check that one out at the library. :)
