Do you have a dream of graduating a prestigious college in order to have a well-paid job?
Do you have a dream of being a successful man through hard work, finally retire and get to enjoy your life with the money you've earned?
Well, if I'm right, you might not see the full picture. You see? There's a much faster way to achieve this dream, but our society induced the idea that the only way to make money is to work your ass off from 9 to 5, most likely for someone else.
This picture perfectly depicts today's workforce I would say.
I see many people saying that they're successful because they have a well-paid job. But later they argue with their boss for a raise or a small vacation, so they can finally enjoy some time for themselves.
To me, these people are not truly successful, they are people imprisoned by the thing that made them think will set them free. Money.
I can't count how many times my parents were continuously buzzing me to become an IT programmer back in the day, just because they had a substantial salary.
After a while, I finally managed to shut them up by saying the following: "You want me to sit in front of a computer 8 hours a day just so I could get well-paid? Well, think of it this way: Above all these thousands of programmers, there is always a boss that manages to pay the employees so well paid by leading the company. If you want me to make money, why don't you ask me to star a company?"
And from then on, they never told me to become a programmer ever again.
What made me say this, you may ask?
Well, my father is a doctor and my mom was an engineer. Despite the fact that my family earned quite a bit of money, they never had the time to enjoy themselves, they were always constantly stressed by their job.
And then I thought to myself, is this the way of living? Working your ass off for 30/40 years of your life with barely any time for yourself. The only thing set on your mind being to hoard as much money as possible, the only moment when you get to enjoy your life is when you retire, the moment when you can barely walk? Is this the life I want to live?
You see? That's how society made us think that the only way to make money is by joining the workforce.
What can we do? I feel the same. I want to be free to live and idk snowboard and experience life while i still have my youth. But I can't because if I drop everything, who will look over my mother and support her? Fuck this broken system. I wanna be human.
There are plenty of ways to make money passively, Steemit, cryptocurrencies, bitconnect, stock markets. Even starting your own business. Yes, you might have a lot of work to do at the start, but as long as you know what to do, your work will pay off and you might earn a lot more money than a regular employee.
Total de acord. Poate mai putin referitor la bitconnect, haha!
So depressingly true. Why we strive for well-paying jobs that will keep us so busy with the job and leave us no time to actually live, is because we want security. More money is somehow equated with safety and security. The guy who calls the shots in an organisation obviously has taken way more risks than the salaried worker. He didn't settle for less. But sadly, we only admire the risk-takers. We enjoy wishing we were like them. But we're too afraid to actually BE them.
"Expose yourself to your deepest fears, after that, you will be free." -Jim Morrison
You just have to bury your fear and lazyness, then unburry your ambitions. You'll be later surprised of how many things you can achieve.
You're so right! I believe one's even betraying his own life if he just lets himselves get used by society in this way. One is always more than just a slave the thing is realizing this, but with more people like you and me trying to convince people of this we sure must be on the right track don't we?
