Mozilla, the vendor of FireFox webbrowser, announced it will stop for now with advertisements on Facebook. The reason for this is the scandal regarding the Cambridge Analytica case where this company misused the privacy sensitive information of millions Facebook users. Now Mozilla has developed a special add-on which prevents Facebook of track and save your web activity.
Following your behaviour
Most people already know that Facebook collects a lot of data of their users within the Facebook site and app. Facebook sells that data to other companies for customizing their ads. What people mostly don’t know is that Facebook has a lot of share and like buttons on different sites where the just use the same technology and way’s to collect data. ‘
With the add-on inside FireFox the Facebook activities are separated from the rest of the activities so Facebook can’t create a data-profile from you web-behaviour.
I explain it some more in my vlog, so watch it if you are interested. My message is that privacy is an important right of people, lets respect that.. Even when money is involved.
Privacy: I have nothing to hide, but you don’t have to know that.
