I think you're right about the calm ocean... It will pick up again when Steem gains value again.
His question being how do we continue with Steemit where we are both the producers and the consumers... It's a difficult question and one without nice answers. Without a way to capitalize on non-Steemians who read our content, how do we get our ocean to expand further? It may be that the answer to this question is vital for the future of Steem and Steemit... vital for Steem to regain value... and vital for even a curie to be worth more than a nice high-value post from time to time. But @kaliju's post this morning was an interesting one.

I'm totally agree.. when I joined Steemit and share my posts on facebook, linkedin or twitter.. I thought that there's an added value to my post.. I can see how many people viewing my post but can't upvote.
I think the "eye" isn't there anymore.. sounds like something unexplained already happens between the social media.
Once facebook changes its platform.. steemit is gone😢😯 why worried about being producers and consumers? The same things happened in real life.. so many products and so many consumers, expand the market mean, more investors and advertisers involved.. then we're all become the slave of business communities.
I still need time to understand the situation @viking ventures. The best thing that Steemit Company must do is to take care of standart tools of quality contents. Do you know that there's also instasteemit community?
I've added two new Discords just this week... I really don't need any more, lol.
But yes, with Facebook not supporting Steemit, it's only a matter of time before it's actively banned there. Saying that, Facebook is dying... and with nothing in the wings to take its place.
Consumers = money coming into Steemit to support the platform. Without external consumers, it's only Steemit producers here to do both roles. That's probably one of the main reasons Steem continues to struggle. That's why getting more readers into Steemit really matters.
Aahh Author😙 write pretty words, hope that someone know it sharps like sword, if they're only struggling to save nodes, don't hate them whose begging for upvotes😉
Hope that this platform will survived.
