Uto the Coconut tree

in #writing7 years ago (edited)

Once upon a time a coconut fell from a tree. It was old and brown and scraggly and just lay very still on the ground.
It did not look very much alive at all.
But inside the old coconut something wonderful was stirring. Uto, a tiny little seed-ball was beginning a new life.
The old brown coconut had everything ready. There was plenty to drink and plenty to eat.
Uto was happy. He ate and he drank and he ate and he drank and he grew and he grew into a large ball inside the old coconut.
One day the old coconut said, "Uto, it is time, you are getting to big to stay and soon i will not have any more food and
water to give you. You must find your own way in the world".
Uto was not very eager to go but he knew the old coconut was right...
...and so slowly he began to push and push himself out of the mouth of the old coconut. Suddenly he burst forth,
"Wow! What a beautiful, glorious world," he said. There was the ocean so blue with white dancing waves.
He saw the sky filled with fluffy clouds. He saw the sandy beaches and all sorts of animals and birds.
But when he saw the tallest of trees that reached way up into the sky, he thought nothing was as beautiful as they.
He could see their long green leaves waving in the wind and he thrilled at the sight of coconuts among the leaves.
some were green and some were brown just like his "old coconut".
As he gazed, an old coconut fell with a thump nearby and said hello to him and then lay quiet and still. Uto now understood that he was one of them and he grew. He grew proudly until one day he too was a handsome coconut tree.

Moral: Be proud of who you are!
Lots of Aloha!
