It is a staple Pay Per View for the WWE, Money in the Bank has historically crowned a new champion at some point before the following Wrestlemania (this stipulation may have been removed). This is not a “review” of the whole PPV that occurred this last Sunday (I have better things to do with my limited free time). No, this article is going to focus on the ramifications of one match – the Women’s Money in the Bank match. The first one of its kind, actually.
If you don’t know, Carmella won. Yep, Carmella. Also, yep, James Ellsworth got involved. Yep, the unofficial woman in the match. Anyhow, that is outside of the context of the point I want to make here.
Anyhow, I see this as an opening for the Women’s division to make history. They have two titles. A RAW Women’s Champion and a Smackdown Live Women’s Champion. That means there are just two titles for the women to compete for.
I see Carmella pulling a Chris Benoit (in ring only here) circa 2004 when he won the Royal Rumble as a member of the Smackdown roster. He immediately announced, the following night on RAW, that he was intending to face the World Heavyweight Champion, at the time being Triple H. Remember, back then, they didn’t have “RAW/Smackdown” titles, they had the WWE Championship and the World Heavyweight Championship. Each show had one of the belts, just it was not called by the name of the show.
This move by Chris Benoit caused a lot of discussion and uproar and it got both shows to be able to “diss” the other and otherwise poke at each other.
I see Carmella pulling this move soon. She won the Money in the Bank match, which grants her an opportunity at the title “anytime, anywhere”. Earlier tonight on Smackdown Live, Carmella brought up that she was the last person to be called up in the draft and how that made her feel. She was mad. She is mad. I see this Money in the Bank championship being an opportunity for her to “get away from Smackdown Live” a show that didn’t really want her in the first place, according to her attitude.
Add into the mix that her real-life boyfriend, Big Cass, just broke away from his long-time tag team partner, Enzo Amore, on Monday Night RAW and it becomes slightly clearer that she will jump ship. Carmella is a heel character right now. After the actions of Big Cass, and the verbal slapping he gave Enzo, on Monday, it is only natural that he will be a heel now. This could allow the couple to tour together and work as an onscreen inter-gender tag team from time to time (maybe against Enzo and Sasha Banks who both have displayed chemistry in the past).
I know Carmella was stripped of the briefcase tonight on Smackdown Live but she has a chance to get it back next week. No matter the holder, they have a chance to make history.

I like your ideas here, it would be awesome to see Big Cass and Carmella team up as heels!
Lol!
Had to give you a 100% upvote here for catching that reference.
I think it would be cool to have them tag. Could be a new "tag division" within the WWE, and something I don't think has been recognized with belts and such by anyone yet. I think it would be interesting to see a mixed tag team championship, myself.
i was thinking the exact same thing. she needs to ditch ellsworth though
I figure the Ellsworth angle would play out involving Big Cass over on Raw. Maybe get rid of him completely since I have read rumors that Vince McMahon is not a fan of the person.
