I know I've accustomed you with titles like that to fairly snarky political rants, but for once, this isn't actually about our personal liberties, or lack thereof. This isn't about the government or the lies they peddle.
It's a genuine request. I haven't been on X since it was Twitter, and long before that really. I think I haven't been on for like 7 or 8 years. My brother says the account's still there, though not sure if I'll keep that. Anyway, I'm feeling a bit out of the loop at times, and I do recognize the potential of following certain figures I like and who don't really post in other mediums. There's potential for growth to it as with everything, and of course there's the potential of too much (as there is, also, with all social media platforms). Personally, I'm not addicted to any social media at the moment. Except here, and I suppose that doesn't count - we're allowed, right? - so I figure that wouldn't be a problem.
I wanna get back out there. On X, I mean. It feels sexy since Elon bought it, to me at least. And it sure beats going on TikTok or something. It's not really my style.
So I guess my question is, as the title already suggested,
Who do you follow on X, and why?
Like, I don't need seven bullet points or whatever, but I do think the people I interact with here are of character and intelligent, and I figured I'd ask. Don't really know who else to ask in my personal life, except for one or two people, maybe. So many people that are in my more artsy circles are unfortunately quite left-wing and don't seem to be very fond of Elon. So.
I have a few people that, as I say, I'm a fan of and would like to follow on there, but very few, and while I don't want to overcrowd my feed, I would like to add some fresh perspectives, 'cause for the most part, it's just people whose ideas I already know.
I'd like new ideas. I'd like to follow people to figure out if I can't learn more or something different from their perspective. I know, I should follow all the liberals, right? If any of them are still around.
Do you have any recommendations? Are there any accounts that you consider particularly cool or worth listening to that you think others should know about? It doesn't have to be politcs-related, just Earth-related, I suppose.

the algo on X is pretty lively and evil at the moment. just make few searches and half of your feed will be about it, if there is enough of the talk about it.
5 months ago i had almost 0 posts in my language. as all the shit show started 70% of the feed now is about it. doom scrolling is bad, but hard to fight against when it feels important.
also never payed attention how many "bots" and bots are out there till the last few months.
overall just search for stuff, and don't go into politics on X in any form if you really really don't want to :D
