It's been two weeks since my last post and to be honest I wanted to let each and every single one of you join in on the festivities this holiday season but I couldn't. There were a lot of things for me to do apart from taking care of my little angel and I just couldn't find the time to get myself to a place with net connectivity to be able to post. To make matters a tad bit messy, I also got sick and wasn't able to go to work.
Looking back at 2017, there were a lot of things that I experienced. I remember making my first account in August around the time Ameerah was born and the many different communities on Steemit have been a wonderful second family to me. I know many have had both good and bad experiences but I guess its time to look back at all of them and learn the valuable lessons that they teach us. I am not going to talk about the bad experiences that I have on my first post for 2018 but I will share my good moments with you of course.
Most of you, who have been following me and got to know me learned about the birth of my daughter and all the experiences as a father that I had while watching her grow up the past 5 months. Don't worry, I haven't forgotten to post pictures of her 5th month birthday, I just haven't been able to upload them online yet to make it easier to post. They are all on my wife's phone and I will be getting them soon. There are many pictures of my little one that I would like to share with you all for her first Christmas and New year.
2017 is over and 2018 is a new start for me to start and working hard on making life better for both myself and my family and all my friends whether I know them personally or not doesn't matter to me. But I do hope that hopefully this year I won't repeat the same mistakes I have been making for a long time of giving my trust to others easily. It has burned me time and time again but I always end up letting those kinds of people in...I guess I am a sucker for helping people out or trying to invest in opportunities that never come true.
I have made the resolve to try and apply the knowledge that I have learned from learning to code and start a small project here on Steemit and hopefully I will be able to get that one to a good start one of these days as soon as I get the whole plan written down. The holiday season has taken a big toll on my finances considering I had to borrow a lot of money again to prepare for it but I am going to also do my best to not borrow any more. I am going to take care to budget what measly earnings I have right now and try to get out of debt as much as possible before this year ends.
On another note, I had set myself a milestone of reaching 500 sp by the end of 2017 but sadly that was not possible mainly because I wasn't able to devote a lot of time to writing quality posts and also took some days off. I missed you all since my long two-week departure from Steemit and I hope to see all of you again and the awesome content that we all bring to Steemit.
If you guys can advise me on some nice ways to better myself for the year of 2018 and better ways to manage my budgets, it would be appreciated. I know things will be difficult for me because there are a lot of aspects of my life I need to change to reach my goals but I am going to work hard and I am going to strive to stick to most of my resolutions that I have made.

Only you know what you can do to get better my friend. Most of the times you just need to listen to the voice inside you. I bet even when you were writing this post you were getting ideas on what to improve on. :)

Thank you mate for the congratulations, it doesn't matter if you didn't get the chance, it's the thought that counts and I will take your advice. It is true when I was writing this post, a lot of things were running through my head and I wanted to put all those ideas down but I felt it would be too overwhelming for the readers and decided to hold off on it. I only listed a few that I think I should focus more on and I will do my best to make a lot of changes to my lifestyle as well as improving the lifestyle of my family.
