Sailboat Trip to Yelapa! ~ #finallyadayoff

in #yelapa3 years ago

Since opening my bar/restaurant, I have worked basically non-stop, from around 10 in the morning until 1-2 in the morning...it's been a lot of fun to see my dream come true, but to be honest, it's been a TON of work and I'm getting pretty burnt out.

So when I heard that Mexico had a holiday this past Monday, Revolution Day, I figured that was as good as any reason to close down shop and enjoy a much needed day off with some friends and my family.

My buddy Rick who owns "Rockstar Sailor Private Charter and Sailing School", offered to take a bunch of us on a day cruise to Yelapa.

It was about 3 hours to Yelapa and another 3 hours back, but the wind was pretty chill and we took it slow to have some fun and watch some dolphins, so we actually didn't get back until after dark.

Regardless, a phenomenal time was had by all. I couldn't have asked for a better day off from work and it was so nice to spend some quality time with my family and friends.

Check out the vid to catch all the action. I apologize for my lack of activity here lately, like I said, I've just been overwhelmed trying to get this business off the ground. I am still curating, but I miss posting and making videos.

So I hope y'all enjoy this one and as always, I really appreciate all of you who keep up with me.

Hive on y'all!

Fantastic that you finally got a day off! I know you've had to be working tons of hours to get your business off the ground. I watched the vid, it's nice to see some real Mexico and not just tourist stuff. That waterfall was the bomb. Don't know about all that walking barefoot among the donkey and chicken poop, lol.

Thanks so much! It was a much needed day off, and glad I was able to take full advantage. I missed all the poop too, so no worries, lol.

It looks like an awesome day! Isn't it strange how being your own boss often actually takes more work than working for someone else? It can be very rewarding, though, in my experience. Past experience. I suppose technically, I am currently my own boss, but I am not running a company right now, so life is more mellow.

It was an amaaaaazzzzinggg day. You couldn't be more correct, being your own boss is way more work!!! Especially at the beginning....it's ALL on you, no one else to rely on or ask for help. But I wouldn't want it any other way.

If I ever make it to Mexico, I'll have to stop in and buy a beer. I have known a few restaurateurs over the years, and they all put a lot of work in!

First one's on me bud!

It's been a lot of work, no doubt. And there is still so much more to do, lol.

That is awesome. It looks like a really beautiful place! I am glad that you were able to take some time away and that is great to hear that your business has been doing so well!

Beautiful doesn't even begin to describe it...it was magical. I wanna go back, like, right now, lol. My fam is coming down in February, I'm taking them, looking forward to it again!

Awesome!
