"Yggdrash is a blockchain platform, provides services such as Dapp (Decentralized Application) and DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) for any individuals, industries, and corporations, unlike others performing as one kind of cryptocurrencies. The Yggdrash project has began with a vision “Digitize everything into reality”; it can be applied to create and connect any assets such as cryptocurrency, real estate, stock market or brokerage services." (Whitepaper)
Main Positives
Most team members have worked together for R2V (virtual reality streaming service). This platform will also be run on the YGGDRASH blockchain, hence utilising the new blockchain in order to find its strengths, weaknesses, and flaws. Furthermore, their advisory board is very solid.
YGGDRASH's Blockchain architecture is unique, because each DApp has its own governance, database, and it services on its own, hence if there is an overflow of users or a malicious attack then it won't affect the entire network; it will only affect the specific DApp's chain. Events such as a clogged up network can be avoided with this design.
It is likely that the architecture will be built by taking into account some of ICON's architecture and benefits. This will speed up development and minimise potential failures.
Main Negatives
The documentation could be more details for such a technical project. The specs of the Architecture and the Blockchain should be presented more in-depth on the whitepaper.
There is no MVP yet. There are only specs of the Blockchain showcased on GitHub.
It is mentioned that the success of the business depends on the number of YEED tokens involved in the branch. The usage of the tokens might become unclear as time passes and if the network is not utilized enough.
Team Highlights
Peter Ryu (CTO/Co-Founder) - He has extensive experience in the technical side of blockchain technology. Has been ICON's Dev Team manager. Furthermore, he is part of or owns different Blockchain related ventures.
Joonhyuk Seo (CFO) - He worked as an auditor at KPMG and he was a sernior manager at Ernst & Young for more than 2 years. He quit his position earlier this year, hopefully in order to focus full time on YGGDRASH.
Taejin Kang (Advisor) - He has worked in reputable positions at McKinsey, HSBC, and Citibank. Furthermore, he has been the vice president of Hyundai Card for the past 5 years. Judging by his experience it seems that he is a business savvy individual that can help YGGDRASH become reputable.
