Fellow steemians, today I want to illustrate the effort of a recent steemian to add value to the steemit community. This new user is @steemheroes and his very first post was the proposition of a new and original idea to add value to the steemit community and the steem blockchain.
This user joined steemit so he could create an original game of imagination and creation, similar to the old pen and paper role playing games. He wanted to use the steemit platform to create a unique game where users participated and they earned SBD and steem for doing so, while also having fun and seeing their characters grow and interact with each other.
The idea was to create a competition between heroes and villains created by the steem users so that everyone could participate in the project and add value to it, these villains and heroes would then fight and grow in power while using their unique skills. All users can create their characters using a basic template, but they have freedom while doing so, creativity is encouraged.
He also had the great idea to make participants follow his trail so that participants give votes to the winners of the fights and support each other and the project directly, instead of asking for upfront steem payment. This idea would grow supported by the community instead of growing under the command of one group of individuals and I think it supports the idea behind decentralization and steemit.
If you want to join the upcoming great fight, you can do it here. @steemheroes has gone even beyond providing the base and the platform for this competition by creating a backstory that is growing every day, you can see the prologue here. He plans to introduce the characters seamlessly into the universe and attempt to use them to the best of their potential, so that even if your character loses you’ll enjoy the fight and accept the outcome.
Unlike steemmonsters, where the monster cards exist already and you’re bound to the rules of the games, in this game you can use your creativity to create fun characters and see how the fight between these characters unfold. I’ve already created my very own villain using the template offered here and I’m very excited to see how this proyect unfold.
I want to bring @steemheroes into the spotlight because he’s been honest, and he’s never asked for a vote, a resteem nor a transfer. The trail is used so that the community supports the very community, he hasn’t abused the trail by self-voting, and unlike other variants you can decide how much you want to vote when following a trail and how often, amongst other options; and you can leave the trail whenever you want with no cost or penalties.
This post is an entry to the contest hosted by @poeticsnake; if you want to join this awesome community and participate in this and other contests you can join us in this discord group: https://discord.gg/nMEwmTx
