After long hours at the computer the back, neck and shoulders may start to ache. I know for me, even after only an hour of computer time (on steemit obviously) I can get kinks in my shoulders. So here it is, 4 moves to help your body feel better after hours on your computer.
A sweaty selfie after teaching a vinyasa yoga class this morning!
Triceps Stretch
Not only will this stretch the triceps but it will also get into the shoulder girdle and ribs. It’s important to not arch the back. Bring your ribs back over your hips. Try to walk your finger tips down your back.
Open your Chest
Clasp your hands behind your back. Roll the shoulders back and open the chest. After sitting at the computer for long durations the shoulders tend to roll forward. This will, over time, shorten your pectoral muscles. The intent here is to open them back up. This one feels really good.
Neck and Shoulders
With your hands clasped behind your back, reach your fists over to your left side. If your shoulders are tight, you are certainly going to feel this one. Drop your left ear down to your shoulder and make micro movements that allow the neck muscles to soften and stretch. With your hands to the left, you’ll feel this on the right side.
Wrist Stretch
It’s simple, extend your arm straight, palm up and pull your finger tips back. This is great to prevent carpal tunnel and give your wrists and forearms a break from all that taping.
Take care of yourself, be kind to your body. I hope this helps!!
