“Yoga is a subject not a form” – the favorite phrase of my teacher!
Seeing the yoga’s asana most of us think that’s it’s very difficult to fold the body, hands , legs in these way. But they don’t see the internal work with the muscles. In fact you need to understand the internal work first of all. That’s why there is no need to hurry.
Yoga it’s not a stretching. If you wouldn’t be able to stretch any part of the body as you instructor, its not bad. You just need to reduce the amplitude but to make the internal work with you body.
Start with the “Tadasana” pose (on the picture). It’s not only the straight standing. First, you need to work with the foot, second you need to work with knees , third with the basin, fourth with the lower ribs, fifth with chest , and more )
Correct doing of these not complicated asana will give you understanding of more complicated poses.
You are absolutely right Rafradio!
Yoga is not about the fancy poses and how well you can express them, it's about the mindfullness in the body and mind. Like you said, the feeling in the feet, then the ankles, then the knees and following up the kinetic chain.
