What does youth day mean to you?.
It South Africa it is a celebration of what youth did back in 1976 for South Africa Education. It is also in memory of the first child shot and killed that day Hector Peterson.
In South Africa we love to braai on our public holidays we decided to do our dinner early.
Boerie Spaghetti
Ingredients
One cut up Boerewoers
2 tablespoons butter
Macaroni
1 Butternut
Grated Cheese
Method
Take a large pot with hot water and put it on a preheated stove with butternut inside and leave butternut to become soft enough to mash. While butternut is cooking melt butter in a pan and add the boerewors and leave it to cook on one side for about five minutes then turn over. When it is done remove from heat and let it cool for a bit. Once butternut is done remove it from water and put in a large bowl and add cheese while mashing up the butternut. Once it is mashed put more hot water in the pot and add the macaroni and let cook halfway. Once it is cooked halfway drain the water and add the butternut and boerewors and leave it on stove for five minutes. Once done serve hot.
