Kobe said it would be days like this! Days when you don't feel like working hard. Where you don't feel like proving the naysayers wrong. Days where you just want to BE. Anyone that knows Kobe knows this isn't possible. He's the black mamba. When the lights come on Kobe is no longer in control, it's the Mamba! Anyone that knows K.O and her latest song "I Don't Feel Like Rappin" knows that when it comes to competition she's always up for it. That feeling is just for the moment because she is a different person when the lights come on and she hits the stage.
K. O. is an artist from Enid, OK who has been doing music since she was 13. Her debut “Hypothetically Speaking” was released on streaming sites last year and gave her a buzz that reached across her home state. Her recently released album "Illest Bitch Alive" is picking back up where she left off and gaining new fans in the process. She is definitely an artist to look out for in 2020.
Nigga I didn't feel like rappin today,
But bitches wann run they mouf,
Like I won't fuck on the nigga they love in the bed that they both in her house
No nigga I didn't feel like rappin today
At just 1:29 this is obviously a short song. But even though the song is short there is so much compacted into this track as well as the video. She makes sure to use this to her advantage as she wastes no time immediately going in to her verse. Many might wonder, "where is the chorus?". Like noted earlier this is a short song that K.O. has to be strategic about. But to answer your question. There is a chorus. Each time she raps the bar "I Don't Feel Like Rappin Today" it becomes a chant-like chorus that by the end the listener has picked up on and has themselves joined along in singing. Also what can't be ignored is her delivery and wordplay. Again with time being a factor her words are sharp and her delivery is nibble as she glides from bar to bar. And did I mention she has BARS! Rapping the line "I already been the shit where I'm from, Nigga I'm just tryna be the shit where you at." It's clear she's a star. She believes in herself.
The video to the track highlights K.O.'s animated flow and personality. Animated is the theme of the video as it incorporates captions and imagery that are seen in the animated cartoon show OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes. A show that is less about just beating up super villains, and more about the everyday life of a superhero. This is exactly what K.O is doing in her video. Just being a normal superhero that goes to the arcade or driving go karts, while also showing off her superpowers. Videographer ShotbyAaron, who she has collaborated with before and has been given full creative control of the video process, He helped bring to life her lyrics to match her animated style, highlighting lines like
"I didn't feel like rappin today, But bitches wann run they mouf...." followed by the chatter of yelling coming from the other end of the line just is a subtle way ShotByAaron was able to bring this piece to life. But the next bar......... PUT EM IN THE COFFIN. That's how good it is. It cuts deep and there is no comeback from. SHE GOT BARS!
