People take the path of least resistance, even if they are pro-liberty. It's a base human behaviour. Which is why as a product or service, to be something most people want to use, you have to take the resistance out. A good easy to understand and aesthetic UI/UX is fundamental. This has been a strength for Odysee and why it's been so popular.
However, one of the biggest issues, is the incentive. YouTube has been easy to onboard to make money from because it's fiat based, so the resistance is less. This is the area Odysee is trying to improve, which I think they can, because having an easy to use onboarding process, in many ways can be a lot easier, with a lot less resistance than YouTube's current monetisation process, which over the years has become a real pain and very restrictive - so the gap is lessening.
I guess now, it's more about getting people educated in new blockchain payment systems more than anything. Transitioning from something you're familiar with to something new is a big point of resistance, even if life is easier after the transition.
I wish more companies would stand up against tyranny!
A lot of people were complaining about Stripe in the server. Odysee listened and Odysee acted, based on what it's users wanted, which for the most part, aligns with Odysee's ethics.
