Hello everyone!
If you ever were a youtube creator or just a youtube visitor to spend time on watching videos, I have myself been a youtube creator. Unfortunately, I stopped. Here's why.
First of all, YouTube itself. YouTube was a great place to post on until they went mad on the terms of service with the "Family friendly" content and the copyright content. Literally HALF of my YouTube content got a copyright notice and they were not a year ago. There was also a song from NoCopyrightSounds that got copyrighted. Is it worth putting music on YouTube videos anymore? Also, one of my video apparently got a content ID claim. Content ID claim happens when you have put material from another video. My video was just me playing Bedwars!!! So, at the end, I gave up the whole idea of making content for YouTube. If I ever put a video again, it may just be for education purpose. I have way better to do than posting videos on YouTube. Maybe I'll give a try on DTube someday when I have time.
Second of all, I have been a creator since I started playing Minecraft java edition back in 2013. My channel was considered a Minecraft channel like a lot of other Minecraft channels back in the days. Minecraft was the most recorded game on Youtube. Obviously, I wasn't expecting any big explosions in view count or subscribers. Yet, I kept on posting Minecraft content for few years at random times. I started losing interest in late 2017. The issue was Minecraft. Big Minecraft servers were stuck in Minecraft 1.8 because of the 1.9 update upsetting a lot of people. Minecraft 1.8 is old now but not big servers update their Minecraft version. So I gave up on Minecraft leading my channel offline for months now. I'm not the only one to think that. Minecraft have been taken over by Fortnite on YouTube on the most recorded game. I thought to myself that Minecraft is not doing well for a big proportion of the community.
In conclusion, I would like to warn people about YouTube. If you are there to make content, especially if you are new, your content need to be "Family friendly" and have no copyright notice, or you might not grow fast. Also, Minecraft might not be a good start if you are just going to do Minecraft on YouTube since there is load of it already. This is my opinion and if you agree or disagree with me, just drop a comment and I'll answer if it's pertinent. Votes are also helpful :D
Peace!
