I received the same email last night. Immediately, I deleted my channel! A few weeks ago I downloaded all of my videos after my first (completely unoffensive) video was de-monitized. That was the writing on the wall.
The more I see these big tech companies politically align themselves and play these games, the more I switch myself to alternatives. The future looks hopeful and free (as in freedom) with IPFS, DTube and the likes! I'm beginning the tough process of weeding out Google from my life, they have grown too powerful for my liking...
I'm in the process of finishing the downloads and deleting them, too. As soon as I can, I will not longer bring people to YouTube! >:-(
Oh man... you're spot on with Google, too. I made the switch off Gmail a few years back, but am still hooked on Chrome and the password management.
Steemit, Dtube and the such are the last bastions of freedom online.
