We're actually not trying to build our YouTube channel for the small amount of ad revenue that may come from it. We're trying to build our following there for a few other reasons:

  • It will allow us to get sponsorships
  • Possible Patreon opportunities
  • Affiliate marketing options
  • Once we get big enough, we should have opportunities to get paid to do fun activities that we'd otherwise have to pay for.
  • YouTube is the 2nd most popular search engine in the world. It gives us a ton of new exposure and it will allow us to promote Steem/it to a much larger audience.

More than anything though, it helps to build our brand and diversify our income streams.
