Hello Steemit community!
My name is Angelo & I’m the producer of the YouTube channel They Will Kill You (as I write this, we currently have over 841,000 subscribers). I’m excited to support & be a part of this fast-growing platform & hope to help it expand even further by encouraging my viewers/subscribers to get actively involved in it as well, as I find the idea of blockchain-based social media so innovative!
My main goal of joining Steemit is not to make money (although that’s a HUGE perk!) but rather, to use it as a means of providing valuable, meaningful content without having to worry about YouTube’s censorship, restrictions, & ever-changing ad policies, while at the same time raising awareness of Steemit by promoting it to my subscriber base :)
I’m currently based out of Las Vegas, Nevada but within the next month will be selling most of my belongings & packing my bags to live/work remotely throughout the world! I spend a lot of time with my girlfriend in Vienna, Austria but also make frequent trips to Asia & Latin America for business purposes.

Demotruk, please - I dont want to sound so suspiciously, but big youtubers often do have moderators who take care of their channels. I also do manage a couple of channels and I can just reply to your comment to "verify" myself as somebody that I am not. Replying to a comment is not a good verification in my opinion.
You know, it is different with jerrybanfield as you can really see that it is him and he do promote himself and his steemit posts.
But we can really hope this is the real theywillkillyou! :)
Please do not take it as a insult from me theywillkillyou. They were some people who did identity-theft and rake a lot of money and we have never seen them there after they withdrawed it. It is always good to be 100% sure. :)

Though the verification at least narrows it down to a few people with access to the account. And they pinned my comment, making it more likely the channel owner would see it. I guess we'll have 100% assurance if they do a video mentioning Steemit.
Even without 100% certainty we have a full week to catch identity theft and revert the votes.
Good idea, I have a video in the works at this very moment which will also be including a Steemit mention to be released in the near future--stay tuned!

Steemit is a great place to get more fans, enhance SEO and social signals for your channel (and your Steemit account as it goes both ways) and make some moola at the same time. Welcome to STEEMIT, @theywillkillyou! Gotta say it's impressive how far you did manage to get on YouTube. We gave up on our channel as we were about to break 100K subscribers back in 2011, due to all the censorship and demonetization issues we already faced back then (now, more commonplace than ever).
You may find this recent post I made helpful in navigating your way around STEEMIT. Make sure you check the comments, as there are also many helpful links included there as well!

Hi Alex, thank you so much for the insight...you've just earned yourself another follower :) I found your post really helpful & I'm sorry to hear how much YouTube seemed to have really RAPED you guys. If there's any way I can help, please let me know as I'll do my best to direct you to the proper resources/contacts in order to try get your issues resolved (can't promise anything but I'll at least try).
We've been more fortunate in regards to the demonetizations & restrictions, but it's still been an uphill battle (this would in fact be an understatement). The YouTube landscape seems to be ever-changing & we're doing what we can to adapt, but it's still annoying having to deal with that cloud of uncertainty constantly lingering over your head. That's why I'm so glad to have discovered Steemit: the community is extremely supportive (your're right, no 12-yo trolls!) and everyone seems super motivated to succeed, as well as helping others succeed.
Anyways, looking forward to seeing more of your content! And I probably should've added a little disclosure in my original post about how a strong stomach is required before viewing it hahahah
Thanks for the kind words, and I'm glad you found the post helpful! Also appreciate your offer regarding contacts, but truth be told, we were dealing with many of the "top" people already back then, and were basically told if we kept "bugging them" they'd take our whole channel down. That was sort of the last straw, not to mention a complete 180 turn from when YouTube actually flew us out all expenses paid to the first YouTube Live event in San Francisco in 2008.
We tried to have it sorted out with Margaret Healy (head of YouTube "strategic partnerships" at the time), those in charge over at the "YouTube Creator's Club" held in Manhattan's Googleplex, and we were even being courted by the likes of Maker Studios and others at the time as well. We told them if they (as a consortium of channels) could "fix" this crap, then we'd certainly be open to joining if it could help us just focus on content creation instead of all the "political BS". Even they said there was really nothing they could do (or perhaps they were just afraid to step on any toes, since it obviously seemed the "YouTube Mafia" had developed "a thing" for us over there). And all this doesn't even consider that YouTubers with millions of subscribers now face similar "problems" and "worries" on daily basis! Unless, of course, you're Katy Perry with her latest video "Bon Appetit"...
Anyway... enough drudging up old infuriating memories, and back to thinking about the future! I've gotta say, between patreon and steemit, it's great that YouTubers may finally have a shot to successfully and more steadily monetize without "that cloud of uncertainty constantly lingering over their head".

Thats Awesome! Great to see you here on Steemit! I think Steemit could benefit greatly from influencers just like you, spread the message! :) How do you like Steemit so far considering we are still in beta?
"Influencer"...you're too kind :) It's great so far & the people have been extremely welcoming; makes the act of putting yourself out there so much easier.
The site is pretty user friendly, although the navigation could use some work. For example, to get to certain tags/topics you have to go to your homepage, scroll down to "Show more topics..", then search from there. Placing these in a sidebar that's present all throughout the site would make this process more convenient to your users. Also, combining steemit.chat into the steemit.com platform would make communication a lot smoother.
These are just my personal thoughts, nothing major. But all in all I love it!
Great! i most certainly agree there's a lot more work to be done to this platform but i also think we have an awesome team of developers and marketeers.
I'ts all just a matter of time :)
