Even though I didn't read this script verbatim, and only used it as a rough outline, I have included it here. Maybe you are more interested in reading my thoughts than in listening to them. Or maybe you're just curious what one of my video scripts looks like. Or maybe you just want to see how my final speech differs from the initial script I wrote. Anyway, here is the script:
Black Panther Gets A Bad Review (END OF THE WORLD!)
Wheat Thins and The One Party State
Compulsive eating. Let’s talk about that. Because one of the reasons I’m fat is that I’m a binge-eater. Especially late at night. It doesn’t even have to be on a particularly tasty snack. Like, the other night, I was just eating wheat thins. And I kept saying, “This is my last handful of wheat thins.” Then I’d grab another and say, “This is my last handful.” Even when I started to feel sick, I kept it going. Just like, “Ugh. No more wheat thins.” But I kept eating them. Because no matter how much my conscious mind said, “No more wheat thins.” Or how much my stomach said, “Please, god, no more wheat thins.” There was some part of me that was just like, “RAR! MORE WHEAT THINS!” And it was apparently more powerful than any other part of me that dared to oppose it.
I looked it up, and it’s called Night Eating Syndrome. Here’s a description that fits me 100%:
Those with night eating syndrome may be overweight or obese. They feel like they have no control over their eating behavior, and eat in secret and when they are not hungry. They also feel shame and remorse over their behavior.
They may hide food out of shame or embarrassment. Those with night eating syndrome typically eat rapidly, eat more than most people would in a similar time period and feel a loss of control over their eating. They eat even when they are not hungry and continue eating even when they are uncomfortably full. Feeling embarrassed by the amount they eat, they typically eat alone to minimize their embarrassment. They often feel guilt, depression, disgust, distress or a combination of these symptoms.
I don’t really get too embarrassed by it, but I do prefer to be alone when I do it. If someone else comes into the kitchen when I’m in the middle of a binge, I start feeling like a wolf guarding it’s kill. Like, I feel aggressive towards whoever it is. I want to rip out their throat and be like, “Fuck away from my pop tarts, you interloping piece of shit!” If I’m ever on trial for murder, it’s because someone got too close to my coco puffs. Know that in your hearts.
So, I talked a bit about Black Panther in my last video. About how Rotten Tomatoes is censoring negative user reviews. Well, finally, of the 81 critics to review the film, one of them has dared to give it a negative review. Ed Power of Irish Independent found the film to be too lofty and lacking the sense of fun that has hitherto typified Marvel’s movies. His review was not even super negative. He gave it 3 out of 5 stars. But, it brought down Black Panther’s Rotten Tomato score to 99%, The reaction to this has been insane. People threatening violence against the reviewer. People throwing out the word racism like it’s nothing.
You’re not allowed to not like this movie. If you don’t like it, you’re a bad guy. You’re a racist. You deserve to be threatened. You deserve to be harassed and harangued for your wrongthink. The funny thing is, most of these people who are pissed at this reviewer have not even seen the movie yet. We’re still 8 days from the release of this fucking film. These people are willing to beat someone up and call him racist to defend the good name of a film they haven’t even watched. What. The. Fuck.
I wish I could say I was surprised. But I predicted all of this weeks ago. Here’s my next prediction. When these people actually do see the film, they’re all going to start talking about how it’s problematic in some way. They’re going to find their own grievances with it. “Where are the trans women of color?” Why are there any white people in the movie at all? Why did this character say this thing or do that thing. RACISM! SEXISM! WE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN HOLLYWOOD WOULD TURN OUT A REGRESSIVE PIECE OF CONSERVATIVE PROPAGANDA LIKE THIS! Brave journalists are going to write braindead think pieces with titles like, “WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT BLACK PANTHER’S X PROBLEM.” X will stand for whatever social justice crusade they’re on that week. And oh they’ll be considered so brave. So righteous.
God it sucks how predictable this whole narrative is becoming. It’s like we’re living in a reality of reruns where people are stuck in unbreakable behavioral loops of their own design. We’ve each of us built our own hell and consigned ourselves to it. It’s like everytime there’s a big shooting, we have the same fucking dialogue again and again. WE NEED TO REGULATE GUNS! LEAVE MY GUNS ALONE! MENTAL ILLNESS! FALSE FLAG! FAKE NEWS! COVER-UP! And then it ends in a stalemate and nothing happens. Until the next shooting. Then it’s, WE NEED TO REGULATE GUNS! LEAVE MY GUNS ALONE! MENTAL ILLNESS! FALSE FLAG! FAKE NEWS! COVER-UP!
And we can’t escape. We can’t escape this feedback loop of bullshit. We’ve turned our lives into HELL on repeat and there’s no fucking escape because no one is willing to be the least bit flexible with their ideology. No one is willing to even consider the idea that they might be wrong. Or might need to make a compromise for the sake of helping something new to happen. And whenever someone does change their position, it’s not towards compromise, it’s a move towards, “Hey, let me become further entrenched in my ideology, just to spite those fucks I disagree with. They hated me when they thought I was racist, well let’s see what they think when I actually become racist! Go ethnostate! They hated me when I said all men are sexist, well let’s see what happens when I upgrade it to all men should be killed!
We live in an age of antagonism addiction, when people care more about fighting than they care about what they’re fighting for. When pissing off your opposition is your main ggoal in life, and pissing you off is their main goal in life, then compromise is off the table. And the only people willing to take compromise off the table are people who value antagonism above all else. It’s now reached the point where one bad review of a movie few people have even seen is enough to trigger threats of violence and accusations of racism. And it’s not going to get better. It’s going to get worse. So when you look around a world of complete dogshit, just know that you’re complicit in it. Know that you helped bring it about. Know that the hell you live in is one that you created for yourself with your stubbornness and stupidity. Maybe you personally aren’t part of the problem. I don’t know. I think I am to an extent. I think a lot of us are. Most of us, really.
I hate how often I get baited into a pissing match with some retard online. Someone with nothing to say beyond some personal bullshit. You’re this way. You did this. You said that. You believe this. You look like this. This label applies to you. Meaningless prattle. Total ad hominem shit that doesn’t move any dialogue forward. But I respond to it all the time. I devote attention to it all the time. Because it just feels impossible not to at times. It’s the same as eating those wheat thins one after another. No matter how bad it is for me, I keep doing it. Another retard on Twitter with nothing of value to say? I better say nothing of value back to him. I better allow him to waste my time, just as he’s wasting his. And we’re both symptoms of the same disease. No matter how at odds we might feel in that moment, we’re really the same creature. Just a mass of gleeful hate looking for a direction to spew. Because we’re happier fighting than winning. We’re happier arguing our beliefs than actualizing them. We’re happier standing in each other’s way than finding a path we can walk together.
It kind of reminds me of something Rand Paul said on the floor of the senate earlier today. He was saying to the Republicans, look, this spending bill is fucking insane. I thought we were against big deficits. Apparently he forgot the Bush years. We don’t have a fiscally conservative party in America anymore. It’s just two parties looking to spend huge amounts of money on different things. There is no voice of, “Hey, let’s cut spending” anymore.
And I’m not even on his side on that. I’m not a fiscal conservative. But who is anymore? Libertarians, I guess. The democrats and the republicans certainly aren’t. For both parties it’s all about sucking up to big business and spending, spending, spending. The details of what they spend on are a little different. But the fact that they both want to spend big isn’t in any real dispute. Our foreign policy also remains fairly unchanged no matter what party is in office. Middle east entanglements. Using the middle east to have proxy wars with Russia and China as the world’s three super powers fight over that plot of land like three dogs fighting over a scrap of meat.
It’s amazing to me how much our two major political parties have in common. The people of this country are totally divided. No one willing to give an inch. No one willing to yield the slightest point on any issue. But our leaders on both sides of the aisle are able to agree on a whole lot. They’re able to agree on putting big business before the people, they’re able to agree on an imperialist foreign policy, they’re able to agree that fiscal conservatism is dead. Every once in a while you’ll see someone in government who deviates from the norm. Rand Paul is one. Bernie Sanders is one. To me, that would be the most honest debate. That would be an election where you had a real choice. Bernie Sanders vs. Rand Paul. A real liberal vs. a real conservative. We don’t get that in this country. We get a choice between two different flavors of dog shit who, if you really looked at them, are about the same on most issues. The things that separated Trump and Clinton were all the typical sorts of wedge issues that are designed to distract voters from how similar they are. Trump is anti-immigrant and wants a border wall. And we’re supposed to conveniently forget that Hillary used to support a border fence until recently.
I’m not revisiting that last election just to dwell on the past. I’m revisiting it to tell you all that I hope we can do better next time. I hope we can push for a better choice. On both sides of the aisle. Because right now the state of things is that people in this country can be set into a rage against each other over someone giving a bad review to a movie no one has seen yet. If the strategy of the powerful is divide and conquer, I’d like to point out how divided we are. And how we are complicit in our own division. How we are giving the elites our own asses on a silver platter and saying, “Here, take it.”
Because we will now fight over anything. There’s nothing too small or too ridiculous for us to draw battle lines over anymore. We are willing to go to ideological war over the most miniscule provocation. And if you think there aren’t people taking advantage of that, you’re wrong. If you think that we’re not being played, you’re wrong. If you think we’re not giving ourselves away, you’re wrong.
Whether you’re on the left, on the right, or somewhere else entirely, we should all aspire to have better representation in government. We should all aspire to set aside our petty grievances and focus on what matters most, which is taking back the power in our own country. If you’re on the right, that means waking up to the truth about Trump. If you’re on the left, that means cooling it on your endless litany of social justice grievances. Because right now, neither side is helping. Neither side is drawing attention to the ways the twin political parties of America conspire together to fuck all people, regardless of whether they’ve got blue dye on their head or a MAGA hat.
If you take away one thing from this video, take this away: practically no one in Washington actually represents you. They aren’t interested in it. They’re interested in keeping you bickering over symbolic bullshit like Black Panther or kneeling for the National Anthem or gender quotas or whatever. They’re interested in you bickering over the crumbs while they eat the cake.

"disliking a film is racist"
Oh America, please never change.
News from across the ocean always make me chuckle.
Well, not always, mass shootings are kind of messed up.
TJ is my favourite journalist.
It's nice to see another YouTuber moving over to SteemIt and DTube. Welcome to the club.
Thanks. Gave you a follow. Look forward to seeing your stuff.
Thanks for the follow. My contents a bit dry, but I hope it's informative.
Love it. Love it. Love it. Get 'em TJ!
Man you shouldve just made a video with this as the script! Much more digestable for the masses. Regardless it was excellent writing and i read it all, and enjoyed it nonetheless... But theres tons of foreigners on this site that use their votes on powerful imagery they catch when scrolling through their feeds.
I think combining the two approaches strategically will give you a unique lane of loyal steemian followers.

To avoid obesity, do not eat too much dinner.
fun sir, amazing.
unfortunately I was very far from wasington, knowing it only through movies and news only
Me too
That was beautiful, Dog. Reminds me of the old days when skepticism actually meant something.
I have known this movie will be a critics nightmare. Even if you are 100% not racist and doesn't give a f about skin color and you solely rate the quality of the movie and give it 8/10 you will be fucked by someone (white/black) who says: "Yeah, if there were only white people you would give it 10/10." What the actual fuck.
That's when you have to remind them of movies like Daredevil, Electra, Ghostrider, etc. Shut that bullshit down real quick. Hell, even something more 'relevant' like BvS, which also failed.
I really like your post is amazing. I want to follow your way.motifasi is pretty good. I really like the video and its script, thank you for sharing information.
That's me agreeing with everything... and well done sir tying it all together with food addiction analogy.
On the issue of the Black Panther I wonder how many people will abstain from even watching the movie because of the social drama, potentially causing the movie to loose money... I think i agree with the critic who gave it a bad review, that the experience is ruined by all the attached significance and the default approval of it... its interesting that the cause to elevate the movie to high rating, might actually cause it to do bad at the box office.
As for the part about the government and parties, yeah, 100%.
Only a cult would defend a movie that hasn't even come out yet.
Wonderful. Just wonderful, TJ. I will always follow and support you.
TJ, you are beautiful!

I don't know why but I feel like Tj would be sticky if you touched him.
If you disagree with the collective, you must be purged!
TJ is awesome as always
If you don't like Black Panther, you're a racist!
Also, white people aren't allowed to see the movie!
that was good. almost as good as in 2012
I want to watching this movie ,because I was curious about the movie storyline @tjkirk
Thankyou for your review
Nice Post . I love Black Panther
