At least it allows embedding, which for some YouTubers might already be more lucrative than YouTube. Upload on YouTube but finding more traction on Steemit is what I mean by that. And of course steemq is coming supposedly...
You bring up a great point, I don't think it's really cool for some people to be trashing Youtube and then using it to upload here and talking about how Youtube sucks and this site is awesome while they are still using Youtube.
I don't really think there needs to be animosity between platforms. I like Youtube, I like Instagram, I love Steemit, using a new one doesn't mean I have to abandon the old ones that were good to me for so long and where I've made a lot of friends and still have a lot of great connections
