How the media industry uses scarcity to inflate the value of media and why this model doesn’t work anymore

in #youtube6 years ago (edited)

The entire media industry has been elevated by using scarcity. From movie tickets to rights restrictions, artificial scarcity has been used one way or another. This model worked fine and the industry thrived until the nternet was created. Seemingly overnight production, reproduction, distribution, and consumption of media changed. Scarcity as we know it for digital media was gone forever. Not only that but entertainment value shifted. Consumed stopped going to the big screen or paying for entertainment.

The entire industry was disrupted yet they fail to even consider moving away from artificial scarcity? Why is this? Maybe it’s because of the inflated revenue that scarcity generates. This inflated revenue has led to an entire economy of bloated pricing for the value that’s in turn created. They can’t abandon scarcity because they can not exist without it.

This leaves the door wide open for a new model to be introduced and take over the industry. We have created that model. Please take a moment to look at this article that explains precisely how we plan to execute a new model for the media industry.
