OMG - what a walk down memory lane. I was out in Southern California in the late 60s and early 70s and relate to your list more than Jacquelyn Mitchard's. In fact, your list is almost perfect. I'd just add some MoTown to your list, especially The Temptations and Smokey Robinson & the Miracles. You must have had a lot of fun writing this post.

Those were the good old days and such great music. If you were in Southern California the Beach Boys were probably right up there as well. It was a lot of fun to write, but I also got caught up in the music and had a wonderful toe tapping morning.

I love the girl's reaction at 1:07 in Satisfaction. I think she knew she was on screen. She was so elated. Music (and spontaneous recognition) can bring so much joy.

I never even really noticed her, thanks for sharing that moment

Firstly let me say you are advanced in years😁. It's a very good thing. I know a few of the bands and arrists on your list. I'm aware and have listened to a few songs by Elvis, the rolinstones, stevey wonder... you know the popular ones we hear playing every now and then on the radio in South Africa. I like this old school music over this pop of today. There are a few new artists I listen to because their songs actually have messages.

I like Marvin, lurther, teddy, whitney, manhattens, lenny, and petty. Those are my old souls who renew my soul.

Nice post.

Thanks. One thing about music is that it moves the soul
