If I threaten to rape you ( assuming I can sneak by your girl and have a paper bag) you will very likely not upvote my comment or check out my stuff if I come across as a low life asshole keyboard warrior.
Since everyone wants to have fun here and earn some $, everyone is working togehter since we all work towards the same goal.
I wanted to follow you now since you are proofing you have humor, but I already do which proves to me I have good taste in my choice of following people which made me feel ok about myself again.
If you have any questions about steem, just ping reggaemuffin, the creator of this bot with your question :)
If you find this bot helpful, give it an upvote! It will continue to upvote introduction posts. Your upvote will give it more power in that. If you think you have something all new users should know, please tell.
I had the same feelings. Usually on social media and forums people can be very toxic. But here people are friendly and supportive. Maybe because everyone has a common goal. At this point I am taking it in as much as I can and hope that it stays this way. Steem on
I'm feeling blessed, I am already getting a lot of positive feedback WHILE still trying to find out exactly how the platform is working. The complete opposite of YouTube!
Check out some of my previous Post, wrote a lot about Steemit. Could learn from there, especially when it comes to editing your Post. Only 170K plus user are signed up on Steemit, right now. So much potential to Grow
Yeah I don't like exchanging a follow for a follow cause I feel like that's not what this platform is for. Not even sure if you followed or just commented but I checked out your profile because of your username and immediately decided to follow cause it looks very useful for a noob like me!
Steemit is better than YouTube, I hate to say this, but hereon Steemit, there are no thresholds, you can trade your SBD for bitcoin when ever you want, but with YouTube you need $100 which could take you a year to reach. YouTube leaves small youtubers in the cold, here on steemit, is a new home for them. YouTube suspends innocent channels but keeps the people who really deserve to get banned. Like my gaming channel was suspended when I did nothing wrong. I never spam. I don't like when people do it on my videos, so I won't do it on others.
Instead, I was blown away by the warm welcome yesterday on my first day on this platform and I decided to dedicate today's blog to the cloud 9 that I was on yesterday.
AWESOME, and so glad you felt that way!!! 😁
and this is classic! lol
But more importantly, I didn't get a single comment trolling me or my mother or the sister that I don't have. I didn't get cussed out and I didn't have to sit there and watch people write about how awesome Hitler is. And much to my surprise, nobody threatened to rape me!
As I wrote you and Angelo yesterday, I know very well what it's like when YouTube inevitably "turns on you". If we can all help even a few other YouTubers find a "light at the end of the tunnel" and make their way over to STEEMIT, it feels "a bit" like offering people a lifeboat off a sinking ship!
Alex, I am working on another post that I am going to publish today in which I am going to refer to the article you wrote about YouTube basically forcing you out of business, if that's ok with you?!
It's pretty much "public info" now, given it's "burned" into the steem blockchain! lol
So definitely, if you think it'll help with your article in getting "the message out", feel free to excerpt as you wish. But I do appreciate you asking, you are one classy dude! :)
That's also perhaps why there's not nearly as much "YouTube-style" trolling on steemit. Those with a high reputation, wouldn't generally want to risk tarnishing it by being an ass (or have some rape threat burned on the blockchain for posterity). And those who create fake troll accounts would, in most cases, be downvoted out of existence so fast they would quickly be rendered irrelevant.
And finally, here's one more amazing aspect of the steemit community that you may want to consider incorporating into your post:
Alex, you always seem to nail it when it comes to referring to the right posts at the right time ;) This @ausitbank post was truly inspiring! As always, thank you for sharing...
I'm not doing this for a resteem nor do I expect anything in return, but I just wanted to inform you as well that I'm mentioning you & your article in my next post...hope you don't mind the extra exposure :)
Finally, the kind of people and community I've been searching for... a few of us have already done our homework on Steem and plan on making it our primary focus. Sooo much time wasted with the piles and piles of nonsense that is curdling into a cesspool of hate and fear-mongering on the rest of social media today. Looking forward to a fresh start!
🤠
...We are going to have to fight for this!
Let it be a good fight!
We need good clear head shots and not a bunch of low blows!
Looking forward to a brighter future!
Namaste!
Youtube/facebook/twitter, it is all filled with trolls and people who got used to use the social media to drain their hate and frustration... Thats one of the reason i love steemit so much, people here have a positive approach on everything, hateful content will be Invisivilized, opposite to other social media where hateful content get viral...
OK dreamrafa, I thought I learned a new word today (no, I'm certain I did), but I'm unable to find a definiton for "Invisivilized" :) I get the drift, so I'm sure to find myself repeating that word out loud in certain circles. I'll let them figure it out. Following....
I totally agree. While the comments I have received on my YouTube channel have not been as horrific as your, the amount of negativity can be discouraging.
...and you did a fine job, pretty sure I'm subscribed to you on YouTube, but hope to have the opportunity to watch your stuff here instead! Thanks for making my first day on Steem a memorable one!
Glad you're having a great time on Steemit! You are absolutely right, people here are awesome.
YouTube is so much bigger, and that brings a lot of lowlifes and trolls onto the platform. There's not really a proper moderation system on place to go through all the comments, also, that would be a lot of work.
On Steemit, there are several real people who make sure that such people are kicked off the platform and that is great!
But yeah, don't leave YouTube just for that, ignoring is the best. Peace :)
I said it earlier today in reply to a comment from someone else: Hopefully the moderators and the community will be able to keep those type of people away from this platform but that can be hard if the platform blows up overnight for instance, for whatever reason.
Welcome to Steemit! Yes, YouTube and some other social media platforms can be very poisonous and can be terrible for your self esteem and for your confidence, so great job for recognizing that! Taking steps away from YouTube can be benefical to your own sense of self worth. Why do you think bullies feel it necessary to berate and judge so often? You would think if they didn't have anything nice to say, they wouldn't comment, but that isn't the case.
Thanks a lot. Luckily it goes in one ear and out the other. Mostly because my YouTube channel isn't a very "personal" one in a sense that it's not about me. BUT people who do have those kinds of channels are suffering at the hands of these evil people that feel a need to talk smack...
Here's a page I put together so new people can get familiar with the main concepts of Steemit, like steem, steem dollars, steem power, voting power, witnesses, etc. It's mostly links to articles by other Steemit users. It also has some links to pages that show user stats and some other sister sites to Steemit like Steemchat. You might find it useful:
I am so sorry to hear about the your bad experiences of YouTube. I have only been on Video social media for 4 months now and have had a rather pleasant experience. The only rude comments I have gotten are from hater in my personal life who just feel the urge to attack me no matter in which way. The best way to handle them I have found is just to ignore them and say something nice in return so that they don't get any joy out of it.
I am also finding Steemit to be a rather friendly place with people actually upvoting some ofmy content- thank you! I have posted on Reddit before with absolutely nothing happening for weeks and now I just posted a few small posts to Steemit and I already have comments. Amazing.
Thank you to Steemit community and creators for making posts like these possible and turning nasty stories into nice ones :)
@world5list thats very good article i would like to add that youtube helped me alot through my engineering being engineer its not always easy to visualize things so youtube come in to play and i would thank youtube , google ,MITOCW , Coursera at the end of my degree speech :D to pay off the debt :P
Yeah, the point is that any other platform could have provided you with those videos tough and the creators, who are the ACTUAL people that were helping you, would have probably been better of. Congrats btw! ;)
Nice post world5list. I agree with your assessments of youtube commentary. The stakes are so low that people talk straight out of their arses with very little promise of reward or punishment. I am extremely new to Steemit, but what a seemingly amazing innovation in taking online conversation to the next level of quality.
I am new to steam....there is a bug where i cannot post any articles yet..waiting on Steemit support to email me back...in the meantime, how do I vote? I am logged in but it will not allow me to vote for other peoples articles....why??
Cool, glad you had a warm reception! Really loving Steemit. If you want to keep up with news on Cryptos, entertainment etc... follow me here https://steemit.com/@wvm
First article i read in here :-) i hope to get the same response you got, and i vote to keep the good vibe in here :-)
Hope to read more posts from you.
Upvotet and followed:-)
hello there! I am new here, and I probably would have said, just switch off the comments and post your YouTube here with extra words to enhance your content. That would what I would do, because YouTube is so flooded with trolls that it is no longer worth comparing at all. That would be my two cents worth. :p
I will try to check out on your posts later there. Seems that there are more interesting contents here than the MSM out there with all its filters.
See you around! I will give you a vote here for your effort. I think that's how we earn reputation and points to earn more... I think...
Steem is better than Youtube. Period.
Agreed!
If I threaten to rape you ( assuming I can sneak by your girl and have a paper bag) you will very likely not upvote my comment or check out my stuff if I come across as a low life asshole keyboard warrior.
Since everyone wants to have fun here and earn some $, everyone is working togehter since we all work towards the same goal.
lol can you imagine how drastically youtube would change if it had the same system as Steemit does?
No that's beyond my wildest imagination :)
I've only been here for an hour, and I'm already considering how long it should take to migrate from Youtube over to Steem. :)
Yeah the whole set-up sort of encourages a positive environment which is awesome!
I dont know why I am laughing so much at this post
Was just trying to keep people engaged while getting my point across ;)
Because the excitement is overwhelming?
Also, as odd as this sounds, rampant threats of rape tend to have a negative effect on both your literal and figurative reputation.
actually I meant this post. I was laughing here.
But I am apperantly not smart enough to post under the right comment
lol im laughing my ass off at this post xD ahahaha
It's OK, I once put a credit card into a vending machine cash slot.
I wanted to follow you now since you are proofing you have humor, but I already do which proves to me I have good taste in my choice of following people which made me feel ok about myself again.
Thanks. =) Followed you back.
I hope because of my great humor and my generous upvoting strategy and not just because I said I followed
That made me snort loud enough to follow... lol

Yeah, not a single negative comment yesterday. I was amazed! ( which tells you something about all the other platforms )
Get on Steemit, those that try hard here get Rewarded. Youtube can be quite Toxic

Very welcome.

I honestly don't know what that means yet... :s

YouTube comments are so toxic. Some big YouTubers even turn off comments. Thanks for the post.
I hope you like it here as much as I do. Feel free to connect with me @lulita and leave some feedback...I'm always learning from others 😀
