When you stop breathing while watching...

a short review of You Were Never Really Here (2017)

IMDb short description:

A traumatized veteran, unafraid of violence, tracks down missing girls for a living. When a job spins out of control, Joe's nightmares overtake him as a conspiracy is uncovered leading to what may be his death trip or his awakening.

...When you stop breathing for a moment, and than you take a deep calm breathe, and after that the man on the left and on your right site is doing the same. And his hand starts to shiver.

A genius drama in its overtones.

An excellent work that has picked up two gold palms at last year's festival in Cannes.

Unpleasant and cruel but eventually with a positive overtone.

A film about the struggle with the sick perversion of psychopaths that are just waiting for a ticket to hell.

I am glad that my favorite festival in Cannes has appreciated the next work of the excellent English director Lynne Ramsay. From now on one of my favorites.
