Someone gifted me one, yesterday. What is UP with these things??
I opened up the package today, both confused as to it's purpose, and yet FASCINATED lol.
Saw someone attach razor blades to the sides of one of those. A death bringing dreidel. Pretty cool shit, lol.
I have seen a few kids with them and I just don't get what the point is. Can you do tricks with them?
I am with @crypt0 -- fascinating but WTH? Another fad another day -- someone should do a fad post per decade. I miss my pet rock!!!!
My 12-year old has been buying and selling these things for a couple of months they can run up to $20!
Another one of those weird pops on the radar. Remember those animal-shaped elastic bands kids put on their wrists?
It's for people who need to fidget with something to concentrate and sometimes even function due to anxiety. My sister, for example, used to fidget with a flat slick pebble. This is just variant.
and what does it do
It's cool- the center stays still, and the sides SPIN. They're lubricated so well as to spin for a LONG time :D
I believe it is termed a "Fidget Spinner". My daughter was given one by her cousin, and she is 12. We did spend several minutes discussing the value in owning one of these gadgets. I told her that I did a bit of research and determined that they were initially produced for ADHD children, then quickly pointed out that she did not have ADHD, so I asked her why she felt she needed one so badly. She replied well all the other kids in my class don't have ADHD, and they have one. I then made a statement that quickly brought the conversation to a close. I said to my 12 year old daughter, so then you just want one because all the other kids have one, she replied well yeah,...Duh Mom. So then I said so if all the other kids in your class jumped off a bridge, you would too then, duh! She stormed out of the room, under her breathe saying, Parents just don't get it. LOL
My kid has autism and these things have been pushed on us for a few months now. Not sure if they were developed specifically for special needs kids but theyre simply toys that are supposed to help kids with add or adhd have something to do while trying to sit still. Now they get to distract the whole class π
yea my kids and all kids are obsessed with these. I can't lie I bought me one too :)
Yea i buyed one for fun but now im Addictet ππππ
Looks like a mini drone.
