RE: STEEM Needs To Get Moving

in #zappl7 years ago

I totally agree, and with the pushes in censorship last year on Youtube the narrative was controlled even further.

Yes, totally right. The talks of a Global Economy Reset still around? I was reading that Brazil, India, Russia, and China would rise above America if this was the case. Although seeing how the dynamic has been on crypto a while, it could be possible that America is relying on that.

The whole 'Phoenix' thing from The Economist and also another article I found about a man who found the first minted American coin, the quint, got me thinking about a possibility about the crypto coin, Quint, you shared the other week.

Very suspicious how a coin like that has popped up and is backed by an American minted coin. Was it Salt Lake City? The coin is also supposed to be released between Presidents day and the 4th of July.
Another ploy to make a global crypto coin seem even more American than it is?

Just speculation after researching this morning but it does seem odd.

You are right though, true decentralization is very important and it's seriously important that people keep pushing for this. I can imagine it'll require some form of true fiat break down before it happens, plus it's all going to rely on timing and some form global scale mistrust from the system. The likelihood of that happening, I'm not sure.

Sort:

I dont see a fiat breakdown as much as just an acceptance of crypto.

If people embrace centralization as a major premise of freedom and turn away from centralized entities...then the currency makes sense.

STEEM is actually a bit part of the process since we are establishing a decentralized social media network. Unlike Facebook which monitors all one does and sells it, there is none of that on this blockchain. That needs to be appealing to people (and is the piece of the puzzle we should be promoting as much as the money).

Once people realize that a great deal of their freedom is removed by centralization and can be recaptured simply by switching to the decentralized services as they emerge, then I think we will see mass adoption.

Just my .02 SP.

I think you are right. When people understand how their freedom is affected they will surely make the jump.

As long as there is an alternative and they can switch over.
The general populice is usually afraid of change, hopefully the great minds working on decentralized systems can make the transistions fun and simple enough for everyone to take the leap.

In time.

What happened since yesterday? Your 0.02 SP is down from 1.45 ;)

Crypto crash...what can you do.

Next week it will be worth 6.25.

Here's hoping. Curie shared the love on a fresh post of mine yesterday.

Enjoy your day anyway, nice to discuss yet again.
