A 3Cs STORY: A lesson in subway/tube ettiquette.

I have been many places around the world and it doesn't cease to amaze me how some people get it and others don't.

It is a simple thing; subway etiquette.

I you use the subway often, why is that I see the same detrimental behaviour done over and ove and over again.

I mean, the simplest things that can be over come with learning are not.

LESSON 1:

EVEN OUT THE WITING AREAS!

Why do people think to bunch up near the entrances to the subway line and then have a difficult time getting on the subway when other open subway car doors are not being used.

I have seen this many times, I am sure you have seen it also.

LESSON 2:

DON'T BE A DOUCHE!

Don't be that guy or girl that is against the grain. Where you push through a crowd going one way when others going your way are on the other side or the stairs or walkway and forming a line.

It not only looks douche(y) but also slows everyone down due to a bottle neck forming.

LESSON 3:

PREPARE FOR EXIT!

Ever see that person that takes a seat in a crowded train when they are getting off the next 1, 2 or 3 stops. Unless there is a practical reason for taking a seat such as age (elderly), pregnant, have alot of baggage then DON'T.

It is especially annoying when they scramble like hell to get to the doors when other people are trying to get in.

LESSON 4:

DON'T PUSH IN!

This lesson are for those that decide they need to get into the subway car WAY before anyone else, even before people getting off.

Please stop, you are actually slowing everyone down and pissing peope off.

LESSON 5:

COVER YOUR MOUTH!

What in the hell is the world coming to. I feel I need an N95 mask everytime I am in ublic these days. People just sneezing, coughing and everything else while not covering their mouths.

Is manners that hard? Is keeping the welfare of others that hard? What if I had a newborn or an elderly or someone immune compromised.

I don't need the headache of having them get sick. It can actually be life threatening.

LESSON 6:

USE HEADPHONES!

Now everyone knows what I am talking about here. There is always that one person, especially on the MTA. Yes, New Yokers, I am talking about you. This person feels it is a moral and religious obligation to share their music with you. No matter what.

LESSON 7:

DIRTY SHOES!

Do shoes and or bags need a seat too? Someonetimes I can understand bags on an empty subway car. But dirty shoes on a clean seat can never be entertained. If you do that at home, fine. But please have some manners and respect for others and leave that behaviour where it belongs, at home.

I have only seen 3 countries so far that get these etiquette rules: South Korea, Japan and Germany.

It is time we all get it too.
