Phones have become a refuge for the cowards - when people avoid people for no good reason. A phone becomes an addiction second but a crutch first. It is what we learn to lean on when we do want to learn more about what's around us.

Your advice apply to me as well. I'm a super minimalist and I value human interaction so much, So I don't have TV at my home.
And when I'm with someone I always put my phone in my pocket first and give all my attention to them.
I personally donot watch Tv because i value my personal interactions on phone even when i watch a movie i loose track because of my phone
