Cocoa Indonesia: Number three in the world

The quality of Indonesian cocoa is not inferior to Ghana cocoa and Ivory Coast. Indonesian cocoa is not easy to melt so it can be used for blending process. There are three types of cocoa that is criollo, forestero and trinatario.

The quality of cocoa in Indonesia, especially in Aceh has started to improve. Especially in cultivation and care. But there is still little innovation in harvesting and post harvest, so that the dry beans need to be more diluted by 'tengkulak'. As a result, cocoa prices in farmers are very low.
