Using the same percentages???
I wont steal your thunder....
I wonder how much STEEM it will require to get in the top 10% when there is a billion users.
Not much! Median account value would be under half a Steem I would think, so you could probably hit top 10% with a couple hundred Steem at most! I’ll let @preparedwombat do the heavy math!
What kind of timeframe are we looking at?
Generally social media will grow exponentially but with a monetary value attached to it I'm not sure
Yeah that would be a lot of accounts. That's FB level :)
Think 7 billion, booya.
Interesting piece of speculation, for sure!
Since redfish-minnows-dolphins-orcas-whales are based on vests rather than dollar amounts, and the price of Steem might end up somewhere in the multiple $100's, I'm guessing the vast majority will be "redfish," with a smaller multiple (maybe 10-20x?) of Minnows than we have now, maybe 2-3x more dophins and not that many more Orcas and Whales, although a Whale account would likely have a fiat equivalent value of $10's of millions. Somehow, it seems to me the limiting factor will always be the total supply of Steem tokens, which is increasing, but at a decreasing inflation rate.
At $300 Steem, even "buying" a dolphinhood from scratch would be a $1.5 million proposition in fiat.
The mind boggles!
