Infamous whistle blower Edward Snowden has publicly shown his support of the privacy cryptocurrency Zcash saying it is the most interesting alternative to bitcoin. Snowden is a prominent privacy advocate and most known for his leaks of classified NSA files in 2013. When asked what where his thoughts on Monero another privacy coin. Snowden stated that it was amateur crypto and pointed out its traceable issues within the currency. Snowden said that such design errors could put fellow whistle blowers at risk. Zcash and Monero are both geared towards providing privacy for their users but use different tools achieve the same end results. While Zcash is based on a cryptographic operation called zk-snarks Monero works by obfuscating info with ring signatures and stealth addresses.
