To end my long weekend away we took a trip to Blackpool Zoo, which is quite a reasonably sized zoo on the West coast of the UK.
This post consists of the best pictures from all I took - and I took alot! Despite being the best they are mostly mediocre because I'm not a great photographer, an iPhone isn't a "real" camera and many of the subjects are behind glass which presents all sorts of reflection issues. Digital zoom often needed use which isn't the best but when the animals are so far away it's the only choice.
All the photos in this post are my own original content, taken today 3rd September 2018 with my iPhone - while the animals retain the original rights I'm pretty sure none of them are going to pursue for royalties (well the anteater was quite adamant if I didn't use his best angle he wanted half of all post rewards) - as I always state in my footer all my own photographs that feature in my posts are free for other Steemians to use in their own blogs if they find something that fits a story or whatever else they are posting - all I ask is you credit @c0ff33a and leave a source link to the post you took it from.
First up when you enter the zoo is this giant tortoise - it's hard to describe how big it is but easily I would say 4 foot in length head to tail.
This Orangutang was quite the character, the little stick he has in his mouth here - he was using it like a tool to dig at the silicone where the glass meets the frame - literally he digs with the stick into the silicone and then chews the stick - like he enjoys the taste of sealant! Either that or he is subtly trying to remove the glass and escape.

Guinea Pigs
Sea lions, I got a bit of video of them but that will be for a different post.
Penguins - this was a popular viewing area so I had to hold the phone over peoples heads and snap blind - came out ok.
This orangutang decided to make a coat out of his bedding.

I was down the Meerkat and Parrot the other night, and this guy challenged me to 4 games of pool!

Thanks for the tour, it looks like a lot of fun there. Having worked in lots of bathrooms I too have grown fond of the silicone's taste.
Zoos are my freaking favorite. The best zoo I have been to so far is the Singapore zoo. They have an orangutan enclosure that probably extends the entire park in the freaking trees! They are welcome to go anywhere in the trees they like! I need to post that post soon. Gosh animals are the best 😂
