The European Commission said on Friday that Booking (NASDAQ:BKNG).com had resolved to end "manipulative techniques" on its movement site, such as time-limits for making bookings and misrepresentation of discounts.

The EU official and the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets have been in talks with Booking.com for the past year and acknowledged commitments the organization made to align its practices with EU consumer law.

"As a market head, it is fundamental that companies like Booking.com meet their responsibilities here," Didier Reynders, EU commissioner for justice and consumers, said in a statement.

Booking.com said it had willfully worked with the Commission and the gathering of national consumer groups to make commitments profiting EU consumers.

"At the end of the day Booking believes in clear legislation and standards that apply to everybody in the industry, so as to make a level playing field and consistent standards for consumers," it said in a statement.

Booking.com would roll out the improvements by June 16, the Commission said.

These incorporate clarifying that "last room accessible!" bookings alluded uniquely to Booking.com offers. The organization would also stop presenting offers as having a period limit if the same value applied after as far as possible lapsed.

The organization should also ensure offers presented as discounts represented veritable savings, display the absolute cost in a reasonable way and unmistakably show if settlement was offered by a private host or a professional.

Reynders said the Commission and national consumer authorities would keep on checking all online travel sites to ensure reasonable treatment for consumers
