Women's soccer is now becoming more popular, especially along with the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup. If EA seizes this opportunity by adding a limited female football team to FIFA 16, PES actually keeps away from women's soccer games.
Reported by Gamespot, Konami is also reported to have confirmed that their establishment will remain the same for PES 2020.
"I personally support the (football) game of women and participate in the World Cup (Women) closely," said brand manager for Europe, Lennart Bobzien. "However, at present we have no plans to integrate the women's team into eFootball PES 2020," he added.
The EA series actually holds the license rights to display FIFA World Cup matches, both male and female teams, so it is not surprising that the FIFA Women's 2019 World Cup is not displayed at PES in official capacity.
However, it is certainly quite disappointing that the women's team game is not represented at all at PES. Given that female football is increasingly popular compared to previous times.
For example, in the 2019 UK vs USA FIFA Women 's World Cup semifinal match managed to get the highest rating of all TV shows in 2019 in the UK, with 11.7 million people watching BBC One simultaneously and 50.8% audience share.
Women's soccer managed to create standards and get higher media coverage than before.
Manchester United, the team that was recently announced at PES 2020, inaugurated a women's team in 2018. We can watch the fierce matches of British women's teams in the coming season, the Women's Super League, which has been promoted since last season.
PES 2020 will be launched on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on September 10, 2019. The demo version itself will be launched on July 30, 2019.
Great to see it is gaining more and more popularity all across
